Irving House goes Solar
January 13, 2011Since the summer of 2009, Irving House has been heating our guest hot water with the power of the sun. To date we note a reduction of 25-50% of our natural gas therm use per occupied room. New England Solar Hot Water installed and maintains the system, an array of evacuated tubes on our roof. And, we got written up in our local paper....

“Love your sister website , the Harding housec. Looking for a b And b for my daughter to stay that is clean and safe in the city. We are hosting several of her friends this summer and they want to explore. I read the website and blog and felt so comfortable didn't even have to check trip adviser!!! Then I saw this website and the solar connection? My daughter works for solar energy international so we are big solar fans. Anyway will be in touch when I know plans. Thanks for being out there! Pat”
“Pat, I don't check comments on our blogs very often! So, sorry I haven't responded until now. I hope you do consider us when your out of town guests are coming in. Both Harding House and Irving House are eco friendly, and we might get to putting solar thermal on Harding too, some day, though the site does not lend itself as much to that. In any case, thank you for your kind thoughts. Rachael”

“If you have not received an email confirmation by now, please let me know and I will tell the front desk staff to look into the details of your reservation. I am sorry I have not gotten back to you sooner. I do not check this editing function on our site very often.”
