Irving House is a large wood-framed house with guest rooms on four floors, a dining room in the basement. We have no elevator. During several phases of renovations we have made improvements to better accommodate guests who have difficulty with stairs. With an accessible room on the first floor (with private bath) we do comply with ADA and Massachusetts’ AAB requirements for a property of our size. Our alarm system has a horn as well as lights to alert anyone of danger.
In addition, for those guests who cannot maneuver the stairs to the dining rooms, our breakfast staff will bring breakfast to their rooms, or to take to one of our porches or our parlor.
